THE CAUSE: The hard truth is we are still far from gender equity in the world. Around the world, more than 98 million adolescent girls are not in school limiting their future. We're happy to donate 20% of the profits from Darkest Before Dawn to The Obama Foundation's Girls Opportunity Alliance.

THE EFFECT: The nonprofit group fundraises money to support grassroots leaders on the ground allowing them to share best practices, resources, and encouragement with the goal of getting girls the education and opportunities they deserve, inspire a love of reading right from the get go.
